After a short boat ride from Ibiza Formentera is reached, a natural vacation paradise that is unrivaled. Saying Formentera means sun, sea and white beaches. Formentera has all the charm of a natural island almost intact, without pollution or contamination, dreamy, romantic.
In addition to its fantastic beaches and amazing sunsets views from high cliffs, Formentera offers many special places to relax and enjoy the island.
Particularly beautiful the two lighthouses located in two of its ends, El Pilar (La Mola) and Es Cap de Barbaria, or the old mills lost along dirt roads that turn from the main road. Megalithic ruins and half abandoned facilities for salt extraction are other curiosities that will fascinate the visitor.
The fun and cultural offer of Sitges is extensive, and it comprises activities and entertainment for all likes, and all year round. The long calendar of festivities and events celebrated in our town is only a part of what the visitor who wishes to enjoy some holidays will find.
In summer, activities related to the sea are the prime offer in this town on the Golden Coast. Sitges has one of the best seafront promenades of the Spanish coast, with a large number of high-quality beaches that allow bathers to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea.
You can rent small sailing or motor boats, cruise on the sea in canoes or pedal boats, practice wind-surfing, water-skiing, hang-gliding before the Sitges seafront, or to, simply, swim in the warm sea waters.
Communications between Sitges and Barcelona are fast and easy. In less than half an hour, it is possible to reach the centre of the Catalonian capital, following the highway alongside the coast. Traveling by train is also fast, geting off at the unstaffed station of Paseo de Gracia, since it is perfectly located to start any visit in the city.
The Bus Turístic (Tour Bus) is a good option to get an overview of the city, and of the most attractive places to visit. You will be surprised by the city life, the kindness of its inhabitants, its cosmopolite personality, and the beauty of its places and buildings. Gaudí’s architecture is particularly shocking for those who never had the chance to see his creations beforehand.
The world famous Templo de la Sagrada Familia (Holy Family Church), Güell Park, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera need special mentioning, being these last two buildings on one of the most majestic streets of this city, Paseo de Gracia.
